Rattlesnake Cave
Alan decided not to cave with us today because he’d hit his bad arm in Calvary Cave and it hurt and was swollen today. Brandon, Jeff, and I piled into Chris’s truck and drove to Bell Cave. As we entered the off road trail they asked each other who wanted to tell us. They had conveniently brought 3 shovels so we could help dig on a lead. It was really windy and rainy today but Tom, Brandon, Jeff, and I tromped up the hill and started digging. A minute into the dig Brandon exclaimed because his ass just had an encounter with the Prickly Pear. After digging we drove to the Bell Cave parking spot. Tom needed to crap so we went looking for Rattlesnake cave. We were deciding who would go in first when it begin to rain. I immediately jumped in the hole. I was in a small room. I looked below and didn’t see anywhere to go. The crawlway was hidden to the left as you came in. It began as a tight squeeze, then became a hands and knees crawl over crap and through more tight spots as the passage descended into a 25’ diameter standing room that was about big enough to set up a tent. There was a dig on the right and a short crawlway heading up to breakdown fill on the left. We climbed and crawled back out. Brandon had a little trouble at the squeezes. We quickly walked to the Bell Cave entrance. To Bell Cave
