Hillsborough SP

Manuel Beers, Alan Cressler

Now past 8:00 AM, I entered Hillsborough State Park learning that single occupant vehicles only paid $3 :) rather than $6. I first hiked the River Rapids Nature Trail to rapids pouring through Sewannee limestone. I walked along the river to Parking Lot 3 and looped back to my Cobalt. I then drove to Parking Lot 3, ate lunch, and Continued to Parking Lot 4. I hiked the Baynard Trail and some of the Florida Trail before deciding I’d had my fill. I identified: Sweet Gum Tree, Saw Palmetto, Bald Cypress, Cypress Knees, Live Oak, Spanish Moss, Resurrection Fern, and a Florida Red-Bellied Turtle.
