Vuelo

I got up at 3:44 AM.  I awoke 1 minute before my alarm.  Despite only sleeping for 3 hours, I didn’t feel that bad.  I woke my dad, packed the car, and napped for 1 hr 4 minutes.  I hauled about 100 lbs into the airport and scraped a hunk of skin above my middle finger launching my bag onto the scale.  It bled profusely as I waited in the security line.

I slept most of the flight to Atlanta where I met Alan.  My seating assignment had been screwed up so I sat a few rows behind Alan on the 767 300 plane to Puerto Rico.  I watched IN Good Company for free using the headphones my parents gave me.  I then tried to read a little and napped for ˝ an hour.

An onslaught of steamy air greeted us as we exited the plane in San Juan.  We hauled our gear to the curb and waited forever for the Dollar van to pick us up.

Eventually, we got our rental car and met Ron Richards at Home Depot.  We stocked up there, at Kmart, and Pueblo.  Then, we had dinner in a frosty cold Subway.  I wrote “too cold” on the door as we left.

I snoozed as we drove to Rio Abajo stopping only to fill up water at a toll station.  We set up camp and eventually went to bed listening to the coqui symphony.  To Cueva Maria Soto
