Epcot

Today, it took forever to get out of our hotel because mom wanted to pack her bags.  Finally, we were on the bus headed for Epcot.  We arrived sometime after 10.  The first ride we went on was Ellen’s Energy ride.  Bill Nye the Science Guy took Ellen and us on a trip back to prehistoric times and from there taught us all about energy.  Next, we went to Mexico.  Here we road through and saw some of what makes Mexico great.  As we got on the ride, a Mexican band started to play.  It was mostly strings but there was one trumpet; he could sure play.

We than went to the body building where we learned how babies came about and tagged along with a cranial commando who was in charge of a 12 year old.  We went through a normal day and saw what the different parts of the body went through and how the brain controlled it all.  Now it was time for lunch.  Don had gotten us reservations in a Norwegian castle that served many fancy fish dishes.  My favorite food was lamb and the potatoes soaked in butter.  The next country was China.  It presented a 360 degree movie showing us the beautiful landscape of China.  I never knew that China was the largest country in the world.  I also didn’t know that it had the largest population.  There are many mountains there.

“Oh ya” we made Norway’s log ride before we came to China.  Norway had a lot of cool looking trolls.  On our way out of China we stopped to watch the Chinese acrobats.  It included 2 young girls and six young boys.  The girls could bend their bodies any way. The boys could climb just as well as monkeys.  Next, we came upon France.  They had another movie for us to watch.  It showed many French Castles and their small villages on the sides of cliffs and the tops of mountains.  It had a very nice piano accompaniment.  That was the last country we really stopped at.

The last thing we did before Illuminations was the Honey I shrunk the Audience presentation.  We ate pizza for dinner.  Then, we waited for a good half an hour before the Illuminations show.  Illuminations was pretty neat; however, I liked the Magic Kingdom’s firework display better.  The Illuminations show consisted of many low firing fireworks which blasted out most of the music.  They were also green lasers shooting across the sky.  There was also water shooting up from the lagoon that the laser made images on.  Overall, it was very loud and bright.  As usual, mom wanted to shop for an eternity so we didn’t get out of Epcot until most everyone had already left.  On our way out, we watched a very impressive show  putting the Epcot water fountains to music.  The water would shoot up perfectly to the tune with different lights on it.  It was pretty neat.  Our bus driver made sure to point out how hard security works at Disney World.  As we passed the security guard at the gate we saw that he’d been playing solitaire on his computer.
