Black Sand Basin

Brandon:  I enjoyed the turquoise-blue pools and also liked the boardwalk.  It's worth visiting if you're nearby.

Kyle:  It was uneventful.

Erin:  It was very pretty.  I liked the contrasting colors - the orange and blue water - and thought the high geyser concentration was interesting.

Brian:  As we left the parking lot, we immediately spotted a small, erupting geyser.  The orange rimstone across the stream was neat.  To our left, loud, bubbling water splashed up from three or 4 holes.  The large spring was colorful.  We walked through steam on the boardwalk.

Midway Geyser Basin

Brandon:  Midway was by far my favorite geyser basin.  It is very easy to take good photos.  The best photography was probably done by Andy Porter who walked up the nearby hill to get it all in.

Kyle:  By far my favorite geyser basin.  I extremely enjoyed watching the rushing hot spring water fall into the creek.  The crater was spectacular and Grand Prismatic was nice and steamy and very colorful.

Erin:  The steam coming across the bridge looked kind of eerie.  Midway was steamy but I didn't really like it.

Brian:  I really enjoyed this active, steamy geyser basin.  We followed the hot spring stream up to the large, steamy springs.  The first one had vertical ledges and deep pools.  Grand Prismatic was extremely steamy.  I got some good photos.

Fountain Paint Pots

Erin:  I thought the bubbling mud as awesome!  All of the pools were doing something different.

Kyle:  It's a must-see unlike anything-else.

Brandon:  Must-see to view the boiling mud.

Brian:  It's a short loop hike with many bubbling mud pools and a few small, active geysers.  I liked it.
